Echo Ledge Productions

Echo Ledge Productions was established at the end of 2007. They started off with a series of short films directed by Matthew Griffiths, with production by Ben Kaufman and Rafeeqah Galant. The group then went on to make Farm, a 17min Narrative about Jan coming out to his father. The film played the Out In Africa Film Festival, Cape Winelands Film Festival, Queer Fruits Film Festival (Australia) and was selected to be registered on IMDB. Farm also won a SAFF (South African Film Festival Award) for best LGBT in 2009.

Echo Ledge Production then turned focus to music videos, a passion that both partners; Matthew Griffiths and Rafeeqah Galant, share. The first video for Mother City indie rockers Macgyver Knife aired on MK in 2009 and was nominated at the MK Awards in the “Nuweling” category. With this good start Echo Ledge continued to grow their music video repotair by doing work with Goodluck for their song “Sweet Janine” (currently unreleased by band), 5^th Floor, Cape Towns hip hop meets Jazz group for their single “Right to Left” and Baarmoedegevoel’s first music video release “Herfsdance”. The next hit on MK came from the hard rock ‘n roll of Damn Right for their latest single off their new album; “Diamond Black Back”. This wild, racy video reached number 3 on the MK charts. The latest Echo Ledge Production to hit MK is the newest music video for Afrikaans rockers Baarmoedegevoel, for the single “Ooh La La” this interesting stop motion firmly places Echo Ledge as a top South African music video provider for MK.

Echo Ledge has also progressed in other spheres of filming including conferences, talks, auditions and technical videos. With a base like this they hope to expand into commercials and viral marketing as well. With a new short film in prepoduction and several music videos due for release shortly Echo Ledge continues to push their creative limits to reacg new and exciting ideas that connect with people in a fresh way.
